Where art and style meet
Amanda Qeqe attended a Socionext workshop in the city of Port Elizabeth, the Eastern Cape province of South Africa, in May 2018. During the workshop she and her group worked on the business idea of manufacturing and selling traditionally styled furniture.

Although participants do take these initial business ideas and run with them long term they are primarily positioned as test business concepts, used as a practical implementation and learning of the Socionext methodology. Amanda formed part of the latter.
Driven by a love for authentic African design and a passion for creating, Amanda was always drawn to the art of beadwork and jewellery creation. What started as a hobby, however, has now transformed into a successful enterprise.
This is Amanda’s key take-away from the Socionext workshop; how to approach her business as an entrepreneur. Over the 5 days she was exposed to the tools and processes one can use in the establishment of a business.
She has used this methodology to further develop her business, expand her customer base and improve her quality of service.
Beyond her business, however, Amanda is truly passionate about the role of traditional African art in contemporary South Africa. Whether it be fashion shows, training workshops, market days, Amanda is dedicated to sharing her passion as an artist, and promoting her business as an entrepreneur.
